Sasha E. Mackin
Ms. Mackin has authored numerous
appellate briefs to the Board of Immigration
Appeals, to Minnesota District Court, and
the Seventh and Eighth Circuits.  
 
Ms. Mackin is an avid traveler; visiting over 12 countries in Europe and
Asia. Her interest in immigration law began at the University of
Minnesota Law School where she studied immigration law and
represented clients as a student attorney in the year-long Immigration
Law Clinic.  There she successfully represented an affirmative asylum
client with a difficult claim from two countries, and won a preliminary
asylum appeal before the BIA.

During the summer of her 2L year, Ms. Mackin interned as a legal clerk
with the Bloomington, MN Immigration Court, for Judges Olmanson and
Dierkes.  Before law school, Ms. Mackin was a felony investigator with
the Washington D.C. Public Defender Service.  She also worked with
Holocaust survivors in  London, England.

Ms. Mackin graduated from the top-20 ranked
University of Minnesota
Law School cum laude in 2005, where she received the Book Award in
International Trade Law.  She received her B.A. from
American University
in Washington D.C. in 2000, graduating
magna cum laude.  She is a
member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the ABA, and
was a
2006-2007
member of AILA  

At the University of Minnesota Law school she served as Staff Member
on the Minnesota Intellectual Property Journal, and was a Supervising
Editor of the
Minnesota Journal of Law, Science, and Technology.
