Practice

Appealing erroneous decisions is an integral part of immigration law practice.  It
ensures consistency in, and validity of an administrative process that
can be
overwhelmed.  Furthermore, good appellate decisions make the practice of
immigration law easier because they define a respondent's rights within the maze
of laws, regulations, and actual practice; to provide a benchmark through which to
judge.  Some Immigration Judges have come under heavy fire of late for abuses of
their discretion and erroneous decisions under the law.  It is important to appeal
cases to correct capricious or  flawed judgments, to promote judicial consistency,
and to protect those rights to which clients are entitled.

Therefore, the pursuit of good appeals is beneficial for immigration attorneys
everywhere.   However, writing appellate briefs, even in clear cases of abuse, is
time consuming and challenging.  Attorney Sasha E. Mackin has outstanding
research and writing skills and a passion for ensuring the respondent's case is
well argued. With dedication to the art of legal writing, this is an ideal solution for
the immigration attorney with inadequate time to devote to crafting a well-reasoned
legal argument.  You can trust a professional and exceptional legal writer to create
the appellate brief you cannot devote the time to research and write, all while
maintaining editing control, legal strategy, and supervision of filing.
Process
You  submit a case ready for appeal, usually a transcript, and supporting documents.
Attorney Sasha E. Mackin will discuss your legal strategy and develop, with your
strategic direction, the legal issues to be identified and argued through the appeal.

Attorney Sasha E. Mackin will address issues raised on appeal; research case law;
write a legal argument announcing law and standards of review that apply; analyze
facts under the legal precedence; and argue that an appeal should be sustained.

You will examine and edit a draft of the appellate brief, and then receive the final version
in a word document that you will sign and submit.

Ms. Mackin charges a flat fee rate with half payable upon retention and half upon
completion and delivery of final version.
I urge you not to forgo appealing  a worthy case because of time constraints.
I welcome working with you to find a solution that fits your needs.
